BMW
6 Series refers to two generations of car from BMW. The first
was the BMW
E24 launched in 1976. The second was the all new BMW
E63 / E64 which was released in 2003, filling the hole in
the lineup left since the end of the 8-Series' production.
In 2005, the M6 version of the new 6 Series was introduced with a whopping
500 BHP, 0 - 60 in 4.6 seconds!
Since the 6 Series was launched in 1976 it has built a somewhat cult following. The old shark nose version is a car glamourised and by some still seen to be an icon of the 70's and 80's gangsters worldwide. It is fast, luxurious, visually stunning, and commands respect.
The newer E63/E64 is another monstor that often scares people out of the fast lane, driven by people who usually are living in the fast lane. The 6 Series is an expensive addition to BMW's sports range, but a worthy addition as always. The car boasts full electrics, full leathers, massive alloys, and a beefy engine. It also comes in an M6 version which most cars will have problems keeping up with. The convertible version is a sexy car to say the least, and is popular amongst many of the rich and famous. The 6 Series remains an exclusive range with very few worthy competitors.
