BMW X5 Wallpapers

The X5 is BMW's first SUV / 4x4. It is a large luxury off road vehicle that has become very popular for urban and off road use amongst the rich and famous. It is the bigger brother to the later released X3. In these SUV ranges, the X stands for X Drive, and the number emphasises the range. The X5 was modelled around the E39 5 Series.

The BMW E53 X5 was made between 1999 and 2006. Production ceased September, 2006 and has been replaced by the E70, which features many new technological advancements including BMW's iDrive system as standard equipment and, for the first time in a BMW, an optional third row seat. The Branding for the X5 from late 2008 onwards follows the new BMW branding scheme, for example the X5 3.0d is now called the X5 xDrive35d, and the 4.8i is called the X5 xDrive48i.

X5's are available for purchase from your local BMW dealer, and can also be found quite easily at competitive prices on websites like Autotrader and Gumtree. However, watch out when buying used cars, and make sure you always do your research first before going to view the car as specs and price can vary greatly from model to model.

The X5, like most 4x4's in many neighbourhoods represents money and status. When people are seen to be driving one they are quickly judged and sometimes subbed. It is a shame becuase the X5's (and all the other X Series 4x4's) are a quality built range that deliver supreme performance and handling just like every other BMW. The X5 is certainly a must own car, whether you live in a city or a jungle, the X5 will provide comfort, quality and performance.
